My experiences on Linux for PowerPCs

Since the official austrian student union ÖH buys practically only Apple computers, the interested layman/woman can gain a lot of experience as to the PowerPC/PowerMacintosh Computers.

Whereas the MkLinux Distribution was quite easy to install on a 7200 (no AV), the Mach Kernel overhead and the chills of compiling my own kernel made me anxious to install the ppc version. (Besides at the moment I don't have the 7200 any more, and MkLinux won't run on the OF/

Well, as of sep 25 '97 i have been sitting in front of two 4400 (200 Mhz 604, 16 resp 48 mb ram, 2 gb internal, my linux on a 1 gb quantum fireball external hd on part /dev/sda4 and swap on /dev/sda3)

what's nice is the fact that OF (IEEE: open firmware)
